TAKE A RIDE AT THE KIDWAY
The Kidway area of the Midway is a family-friendly environment with scaled-down rides and games for pint-sized fairgoers. Be sure to ride the Dentzel Carousel, one of the most popular rides at the State Fair of Texas. If you have older kids, take them on the Texas Star Ferris wheel or make a splash at Sparklett's Log Flume.
ENJOY A SHOW AT THE OAK FARMS THEATER
Kids will love the interactive shows at the Oak Farms Theater, and with shows starting every hour, families can easily attend the World of Magic Show or the newest attraction for littles, Tanna Banana Storytime. The World of Magic Show is sure to wow kids (and even parents) of all ages with magic tricks, illusions and a floating robot, and Tanna Banana brings your children's' favorite stories to life.
FUN ON THE FARM
The Texas livestock and agriculture attractions are must-visits for attendees of all ages, but Big Tex's Farmyard and the Oncor Petting Zoo are perfect for youngsters. Visit and learn all about livestock through an educational experience at Big Tex's Farmyard, or get hands-on by petting and feeding some of the cutest farm animals around at the petting zoo located inside the Pan Am Arena.
FEED A STINGRAY AT THE CHILDREN'S AQUARIUM
If you haven't taken your kids to the Children's Aquarium yet, now is the perfect time! With more than 250 species to learn about and interactive exhibits, it makes the perfect learning adventure for the entire family. The aquarium has a coastal touch pool and daily stingray feedings that the kiddos will enjoy.
TAKE A FOOD BREAK
When the kids get hangry, stop by the Fletcher's Corny Dog stand for the iconic corny dog. Parents can also treat the kiddos to warm gourmet chocolate chip cookies and milk at Stiffler's Mom's Cookie Factory. If your kids don't leave the fair well fed, you're not doing it right!
END THE NIGHT WITH LIGHTS
End a long day at the fair on the bright side with the Starlight Parade. Enjoy a dazzling display of spectacular floats, upbeat music, fireworks and a variety of fun characters every night at the Starlight Parade, beginning at 7:15 p.m.
The family fun doesn't stop here! There is much more to do. For help finding these fun attractions and activities at the fair, visit the State Fair of Texas website.
