Start early in the morning riding the historic McKinney Avenue Trolley to the original Bread Winners restaurant on McKinney Avenue. This popular spot in the city is a favorite of under the radar celebrities.

2Katy Trail

Then, join the locals and jog at the Katy Trail, a 3.5-mile walking and biking path leading into the heart of the city. When on route, enjoy a local brew at the Katy Trail Icehouse one of Dallas’ most popular spots.

3Sixth Floor Museum

Now visit The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, to walk through a timeline of John F. Kennedy’s life, presidency and the moments of November 22 as an entire nation stood by. A live feed from the museum webcam features a real-time view from the sniper spot and two areas in the museum were recreated to appear as they did in 1963.

4Wild Bill’s

Later, head for a walk to Wild Bill’s Western Store to find the perfect boots and locally made Stetson hats. Secure some Instagram moments in downtown with In-City Wheels.

2Blue’s Alley

It is time to discover the rich musical history of Deep Ellum at the Deep Ellum Community Center and perhaps even more with the tours offered by the Center including the tour to Blues Alley, a tribute to the history of blues in this historical neighborhood considered the cradle of Texas Blues. The Alley showcases the work of local artists and pays tribute to the artists that came out of Deep Ellum, including the father of Texas Blues, Blind Lemon Jefferson.

In the afternoon it’s time to explore another historic neighborhood, Bishop Arts District.
