Twogether Land
Groove to live performances of iconic talents such as Lil Wayne, Latto, and Jeezy in Fair Park. Running from May 25 to 26, Twogether Land unites music lovers of all interests to experience an all-encompassing festival. In addition, the festival will feature more than 30 local food vendors, an art expo, a trivia session, and more.
Dallas Memorial March
Honor our military heroes by embarking on an 11-minute march across the White Rock Lake area. Veteran-founded organization Carry the Load will be hosting the Dallas Memorial March at Reverchon Park from May 26 to 27. Experience live music and flag ceremonies while paying homage to Dallas's local veteran community.
Memorial Day Party
Make your way to the AT&T Discover Discovery District with your little ones on May 27, reveling in summer fun for this Memorial Day weekend. Special activities include outdoor lawn games, sweet slushies, and bouncy houses. Make a picnic on the grassy lawn area while watching "MOTL: Jumanji" on the park's big screen in the evening.
Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
The Dallas Arboretum and Gardens, located on the shores of White Rock Lake, is a perennial favorite of locals and visitors alike. There are 66 acres to explore that include many beautiful and unique gardens, like A Woman's Garden with an infinity pool and views of the lake, and the McCasland Sunken Garden.
Events over the Memorial Weekend include cooking demos, afternoon tea delights, concerts, and complimentary family tickets to the Children's Adventure Garden.
Dallas Symphony Orchestra Concert at Flag Pole Hill
The DSO's annual summer concert series is back again this Memorial Weekend! Pack a picnic while you enjoy patriotic tunes and a wonderful fireworks display for a fun family-friendly night out. The concert is May 27 and is free to attend.
Klyde Warren Park
Any time is a great time to visit Klyde Warren Park, the city's unique deck park built over a freeway. Five acres provide ample space to picnic, fountains for splashing about, a dog park, a children's park, and stages for live entertainment. Check their website for special events happening throughout the weekend, and don't forget to dine at the food trucks!
The George W. Bush Presidential Center
Travel across centuries and uncover the framework of liberty in the Freedom Matters exhibit, from now until December 31 at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Uncover one-of-a-kind historical items and artifacts such as a 14th-century replica of the Magna Carta and versions of the Declaration of Independence. Enrich your knowledge on the subject of freedom in the foundations of societies with engaging activities.
In addition to enhancing conversation around this topic, the library provides a nice escape from the Texas heat.
