One Year Later: Virgin Hotels Dallas
A Closer Look At The Design District's Most Fashionable Hotel
The lifestyle hospitality brand pioneered by Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group arrived in Dallas in late 2019 and since then, the Virgin Hotels' third hotel has become an invaluable piece of artwork in the city's Design District. The new sixteen-story tower on Turtle Creek Boulevard has it all - pool scenes, coffee bars, communal workspaces, hip restaurants, oh and also 268 hotel rooms (or chambers as Virgin likes to call them).
Ranging from 323 square feet to 1,395 square feet, each room has a sliding barn door that transforms the one room into a two-room suite. The sliding door separates the bedroom from a full vanity, two lighted closets, shower, and a sit-down makeup table with an illuminated mirror.
The mini-bars are stocked with goodies at street-level prices and the amenities also reflect that. The brand sticks true to its belief in not nickel and diming its guests for the convenience of grabbing a bag of nuts to munch on before hitting the hotel's state-of-the-art 24-hour gym.
Most rooms come with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and views of the Dallas skyline, but possibly the best feature of the rooms are the beds. Each bed comes with a custom mattress that uses patented technology to ensure a great night's sleep.
Traveling with Fido? Pets are not just welcomed, they are encouraged. Pets stay free. Chambers come with food and water dishes, treats and dog beds that are just as comfy as human beds.
The hotel's edgy details makes it a perfect fit with the area's art galleries, design studios and showrooms. The color red is interwoven through each of the guest rooms from the chamber's red doors to the red SMEG mini-fridges to the red plush sofas.
Dallas-based SWOON, the studio and Joel Mozersky Design designed the interior while 5G Studio Collaborative served as the project's architecture.
In addition, Virgin Hotel Dallas has more than 14,000 square feet of creative spaces for meetings, corporate events or large functions.
The hotel's meeting space highlights include:
- The Giant. Aptly named, the Giant space is the biggest meeting space option at Virgin Hotels Dallas. The 3,735-square foot space also comes with breathtaking views of the Dallas skyline.
- The Manor is an indoor space connected to a fourth-floor outdoor terrace. The flexible space is ideal for a small meeting of the minds or a large social gathering.
- The Shag Room inside Commons Club is best used for a private cocktail reception for up to twenty people.
- The Pool Club, located on the fourth floor, includes an outdoor terrace leading to the pool area. The space also includes an indoor and lounge area, and when combined with the Manor space can accommodate up to 600 people.
