Where to Buy Music
After the show, head to any number of Dallas' premier record and memorabilia shops to pick up all the great gear you need to rep your new favorite artist or band.
Spinster Records
Spinster is so much more than a record store. Founded by former music multi-hyphenate David Grover, the Oak Cliff shop offers vinyls both old and new alongside music-inspired accessories and enough clothing options to satisfy fans of all genres. Spinster is even known to throw a record signing party or label showcase every now and then.
Good Records
In addition to being a good place to buy records, this fittingly titled store is a cool place to kick it. Maybe it's their weekly rock-and-roll movie nights, or maybe it's their superb slate of concerts courtesy of local and national acts eager to engage with fans. Whatever the reason, Good Records has become a Lower Greenville staple worthy of its status as a favorite spot for musicians, music fans and vinyl veterans alike.
Lucky Dog Books
Two locations, one in Oak Cliff and one in East Dallas! Their bricks 'n' mortar bookstores are devoted to offering the best selections of used books, movies and music. A fun place to look through pre-loved records.
Top Ten Records
Top Ten Records opened in 1956 as a community record shop and concert ticket outlet, selling the most tickets to the Elvis Presley show at the Cotton Bowl that year. Their mission is to develop and sustain a piece of Oak Cliff history as a resource for media literacy and cultural study while preserving, restoring, and making available to the public an archive of music and film.
The Wild Detectives
The Wild Detectives in Dallas, TX, is a unique fusion of a bookstore, bar, and cultural space that has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. Nestled in the Bishop Arts District, this cozy venue offers an eclectic selection of books, ranging from contemporary literature to independent publications, making it a haven for book and vinyl lovers. Beyond its literary appeal, The Wild Detectives is known for its community-driven events, including author readings, live music, and thought-provoking discussions that bring together creatives and intellectuals.
Dolly Python
Gretchen Bell’s Dolly Python store has been enhancing wardrobes for over a decade, but don’t expect to find anything you could buy at any ‘ol store. Bell’s space is strictly old school, both in terms of music and memorabilia. Dolly Python offers endless oddities of unique antiques, creative clothing and enough music to keep you browsing and buying for hours. It’s no wonder that everyone from Jean Paul Gaultier to Kacey Musgraves has made their way to this must-see store.
