How to spend a day in Highland Park Village
Experience something new on your next trip to Dallas.
Highland Park Village opened in 1931 as the first shopping center of its kind in the U.S. It's even a designated National historical landmark - which is a nice piece of Dallas history to impress your friends with. Known for its upscale shops like Jimmy Choo, Chanel and Dior (just to name a few), there's more to this quaint neighborhood than a luxurious shopping experience.
Morning
Stop by The Juice Bar for a morning pick-me-up – they serve cold-pressed fruit and veggie juices, as well as smoothies and anti-oxidant bowls to get you fueled for the day. Pop into Royal Blue Grocery, Dallas' first location of the popular urban market, for a quick breakfast item and a coffee.
Come back and visit the LOCAL, a seasonal pop up market offering local foods, live entertainment and kid-friendly activities. The next artisan market will be on March 23.
Afternoon
Shop 'til you drop! Treat yourself to a pair of Louboutins or the latest Fendi handbag. Window shopping counts too – stroll past all the fancy store fronts and take a peek at the hottest fashion trends.
Once you've worked up an appetite, grab a bite to eat. Try Bistro 31– their menu specializes in French, Italian and Spanish influences, so you're in for a symphony of flavors in every dish. The lunch menu includes various pastas, lobster bisque and a bistro burger. For a taste of seafood, dine at Café Pacific, a Dallas establishment for over 35 years. The seafood chopped salad and classic lobster roll are a just a few tasty things you'll find on the menu.
Evening
Save some room for dessert and stop by Bird Bakery for a sweet bite. They bake everything on-site and from scratch every day, so anytime you go their treats will always be fresh! There are so many goodies to choose from like the spiced buttermilk pie, Mexican hot chocolate brownie, and of course the award-winning carrot cupcake – we suggest trying one of each!
Cap off the day with a movie at the Highland Park Village Theatre. This unique movie theater (the first luxury suburban theatre in Texas!) was designed with Spanish architecture influences and hand painted murals depicting the history of Texas inside the theater. You can catch the latest blockbuster films in an intimate space. And don't miss First Friday's - the first Friday of every month guests can purchase one adult ticket and get the second free!
