Driving in for a weekend road trip? These micro itineraries highlight walkable locations within the city. Just park the car and get ready to explore these neighborhood gems!

Deep Ellum

While there is some street parking available, you can park in one of the many lots throughout the neighborhood. If it's available, Lot 48 on the corner of Main & Elm streets is a great one because of its proximity to everything you want to see. On average, parking fees begin after 6 p.m., with $2 fees on weekdays and $5 on nights and weekends. Whether you're lining up early for Pecan Lodge's brisket, looking for gourmet tacos from Revolver Taco, or craving something sweet from Emporium Pies, there's something for every appetite in Deep Ellum. While you're walking off dinner, you can try your hand at DIY crafts at Upstairs Circus or take home one-of-a-kind souvenirs from Jade & Clover.

Farmer's Market

The Dallas Farmers Market has many surface lots and street parking within a two to three block walk of The Shed + The Market with costs ranging from $4-$8. This map will help you find out the best options. You'll need about two hours to eat, shop and explore, so consider that when booking your parking online.

Stroll through The Market's shops and stop by Abundantly Aromatic, a Black woman-owned business that offers artisan candles and all-natural soaps, or pick up a beautiful gifts and jewelry from Folklore & Tradition, a Hispanic woman-owned business that supports Mayan artisans and traditions. Hungry? Enjoy banh mi from Nammi, a Vietnamese fusion food truck or authentic Thai food from Ka-Tip Thai Street Food.

West Village

Known as Uptown's Downtown, West Village is Dallas' most vibrant walkable shopping and dining district. There is no shortage of free parking garages here, plus a few spots which offer free valet before 4 p.m. With 19 full-service restaurants like Sushi Zushi and local, chef-driven concepts like Public School 214, it might be hard to choose just where to eat first! Craving the upscale shopping experience you've missed for months? Nickel & Suede and the Nicole Kwon Concept Store could have just what you're looking for.

Greenville Avenue

Street parking or valet is the name of the game for most of Lower Greenville Avenue. Plan to stay a while in this quaint neighborhood, filled with a robust scene of bars and an ever-increasing number of noteworthy restaurants. Check out The Truck Yard's spacious outdoor space and Airstream trailer bar, truck-bed lounges and a treehouse bar, or head to HG SPLY for bowls, burgers and one of the best views of the city. Bonus: Downtown

If you plan to stay in one of Downtown Dallas' Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation hotels like the Omni, Adolphus, or Magnolia, you won't need your car at all! Within Downtown, you can walk to some of the most iconic Dallas sights such as the Pegasus, Reunion Tower, Pioneer Plaza and Thanks-Giving Square.
