Uptown Players Presents: Broadway Our Way – A Night of Musical Revelry and Renaissance Whimsicality

Dust off your crowns and prepare to be enchanted as Uptown Players proudly announces the return of its beloved annual fundraiser, Broadway Our Way, with an all-new production brimming with creativity, theatrical magic, and a hint of royal mischief. This year, audiences will be transported to a Gay Renaissance Faire where show tunes take on a whole new dimension of fun before transitioning to an epic, show-stopping Act 2 finale.

Directed and written by B.J. Cleveland, with music direction by Adam C. Wright and Kelley Poche Rodriguez, and choreography by Alli Betsill, the show reimagines iconic musical numbers with bold twists, unexpected mashups, and a touch of ye olde camp.

Get ready for everything from rousing reinterpretations of Cabaret, Rent, and Pippin to exhilarating renditions of modern hits like Something Rotten, Groundhog Day, and The Notebook. With knights, jesters, and musical surprises around every corner, Broadway Our Way brings together tradition and innovation in a way only Uptown Players can.

Uptown Players has presented numerous world premieres, including Silver Foxes (2023), A Very Sordid Wedding (2021), A Very Judy Christmas (2018), Gilligan’s Fire Island (2015), Redesigning Women (2013), and Crazy Just Like Me (2011). In addition, Uptown Players has produced the United States premieres of the West End hit musical Soho Cinders (2014) and the Pet Shop Boys Musical Closer to Heaven (2010). Uptown Players was the first regional theater in the United States to present the Tony Award Winner The Boy from Oz and the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning musical Next to Normal, following the closing of the Broadway productions. Each season, Uptown Players presents several regional premieres. Past premieres include productions of The Prom, Head Over Heels; Fun Home; Kinky Boots; The Cake; The View Upstairs; Priscilla, Queen of the Desert; The Legend of Georgia McBride; It Shoulda Been You; End of the Rainbow; The Nance; Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike; and The Producers.
